Flat Tire Footwear Sets Launch for Fall 2006 Line

WEST ALLIS, Wis. – June 03, 2006 – Gravity Group, Inc. today announced the inaugural launch of its Flat Tire Footwear Fall 2006 shoe line, featuring its innovative, patent-pending Crumb-Tech™ Comfort System.

The Crumb-Tech™ Comfort System incorporates loose Crumb Rubber as a filler material in the outsoles of its shoes, resulting in a shoe of superior comfort that also helps preserve natural resources. Crumb Rubber is a Post-Consumer Waste Recycled Material (PCW), and is made from 100 percent recycled scrap tires that have been shredded and ground to a loose composition. "Crumb Rubber is being used today on surfaces of playgrounds, stadiums, and is incorporated into running tracks due to its performance and safety characteristics," said Michael Hottinger, president of Gravity Group, Inc. "Research indicates that Crumb Rubber is the most shock absorbing surface material ever tested." The use of Crumb Rubber provides for better shock absorption, reduces foot fatigue, and increases flexibility and comfort. Crumb Rubber is also a durable material that will not break down over time.

"Approximately 795,000 scrap tires are generated every day in the U.S., and over half of those are never recycled, with millions of tires ending up in stockpiles or landfills," said Hottinger, "Flat Tire Footwear takes these tires and recycles them into our footwear, resulting not only in a comfortable, durable shoe, but in the preservation of natural resources and reduction of scrap tires in our landfills as well."

The fall 2006 line of Flat Tire Footwear offers both men and women’s styles, ranging in price from $80 to $110 per pair. Styles include casual shoes, boots and clogs. All shoes feature soft nubuck, suede, and smooth leather uppers, leather linings, padded collars, a removable molded footbed with a layer of memory foam, and a rubber outsole with crystal rubber panels so customers can see the Crumb Tech™ cushioning system.

Women’s shoes are available in medium widths, sizes 6 to 10 and 11, and men’s styles are available in medium widths, sizes 7 to 11, 12 and 13. Additional styles, including sandals, will be available in the spring 2007 line, which will be available February 07.

The fall Flat Tire Footwear collection will be available in select independent shoe stores, comfort footwear retailers, and outdoor retailers beginning in September, 2006.
